In my opinion, this day is very cool, i don't believe these history about halloween, but American people make this a day of joy and fun. Children making "trick or treat" with your neighbors and I think cool because They enter the game too.

  2. Hello, Nelise!
    1) imaginary spooks = assombração
    monsters = montros

    2) I think that Halloween is similar to Carnaval to us (brazilians). Although here in Brazil we don't celabrate this holiday, I like it. Because people have some fun asking or giving candies or money.

  4. Hi guys!! How are you doing?

Dear Wellington, I don't believe in these stories too... lol And yes, during this holiday people have much fun with their neighboors!! That's great!

Dear Laura, I agree with you, it's like an American carnival! lol

Dear Guilherme, what you know is very interesting because I've told you, right? :)) And now you know the meaning of the date and yes, people celebrate this date here only if they attend an English course and go to the parties the schools prepare. I also disagree that this date has something to do with our culture.

Good answers, people!! Thank you all!!

Your list of terms is very good and your answer about the date can be a little different, like:
"I think Halloween is a cool and commerorative holiday.
In Brazil however, not everyone celebrates this day.
Children are on the streets begging for candy at houses saying, "Trick or Treat".

  7. 1 Pumpkin - Witches - Bruxas
    Black Cat - Ghosts -

2 My view is that over time, things have been distorted, Halloween is a scary thing as everyone talks about, was once more a ritual of prayers, and now people think they are only ghosts, witches and so on.
Well at least here in Brazil is more or less what people think.
But a date is pretty cool and fun I think

  8. Trick or Treat - Gostosuras ou Travessuras
    spider - aranha
    Black Cat - Gato Preto
    Ghosts - Fantasmas
    haunted House - casa assombrada

I think that Halloween does not have much meaning for us, does not fit with our culture, I think just because it's fashionable in the United States need not also be in Brazil.
